Printed Peaks: Handcrafted wooden necklaces inspired by Vermont landscape
I have always dreamed that I would one day own my own boutique where I sold vintage as well as some of my own pieces. I had kind of given up on that dream, thinking it was unrealistic, but after finding A Beautiful Mess blog and seeing Elsie's Red Velvet shop I have regained confidence in some long lost dreams. In taking steps towards that goal I first wanted to start my own Etsy shop. I just wasn't sure what I would sell. I could make numerous things but nothing unique enough to actually sell. Then it kind of just came to me. After moving miles away from Vermont to be with my sweet boy, I knew I wanted to connect my shop with how I missed my first and always home. I began sketching ideas that abstractly represented mountains. After getting a general idea of what I was looking for I worked with my dad in crafting these wooden pieces. Working with my father on something I was so excited about really made me happy. Each necklace is handcrafted and named after a mountain in Vermont.
I'm still new to the Etsy world and being a seller but I already feel like I have learned a lot. I often feel as if I should have so much more success but it takes time..and I think those thoughts are normal. I've luckily gotten so many praises for my work and I am so grateful. I initially came out with a very earthy collection to start but hope to save some money to buy different colored stains and leather for a new collection. I'm thinking blues. Or reds. Who knows? I was lucky enough to work with two lovely ladies on custom necklaces from two giveaways on City Birds Nest and Lune. I may also be collaborating on some new necklaces with a blogger friend for the upcoming holiday months {2011}. If you would like to contact me about a custom piece or if you have any questions feel free to email me at PrintedPeaks@gmail.com!
