Weekend Crafts

I've always wanted to create portraits of my pets but just wasn't sure the direction I should take. After seeing this I knew my approach would be cartoon-y. The wooden plaques were bought at Michael's for 99 cents each. I bought grey and black paints for 59 cents each. And I also bought chalkboard spray paint for $7.00. All in all a pretty crafty and productive weekend for very little moula.

**TIP**
If you are currently renting and getting relatively sick of white walls and no decorations. I came up with a way to hang these plaques without too much damage to the walls or your art. I took ribbon I already had, created a shape like that of an awareness ribbon, tacked it to the back of the plaque and tacked it to the wall. I use white flat thumb tacks. I think they look nice and leave relatively small holes.

I tackled the coffee table on a really windy day. Probably should have waited for a day that was less intense. It felt like all the spray paint just blew past the coffee table but luckily enough it worked and I love it!
More and more this apartment is starting to feel like a home.
Thanks so much for stopping in! I hope you had a great weekend!
