I really love this guest post over at
City Birds Nest by Jordan of
Trailer Gypsy. Another fantastic green DIY. She cans her very own food. I think this is such a great idea. I would love to make my own jam because my Noni (great grandmother) has always made her own jam...I tend to hate store bought. (Maybe I'm a jam snob, so be it) I would really love to carry the tradition on, especially since now at 92 my Noni can't really make jam anymore, but believe me when I say she's just as lively as ever. Definitely check out this post!
Next week I will be hosting a guest post green DIY too. I can't wait!
Thanks for stopping in!
I hope you have a fantastic Friday!

we used to have a HUUUGE garden (we live in the country) but when we got horses, they took over the place! :) so we don't can too much anymore unless we get vegtables and fruits from neighbors to can. i can still picture my mom over that stove during the hot summer days, canning her heart out, as the big whistling pot rattled away... great memories as a kid. :)
ReplyDeletefound your blog from gentri's!
you should totally take a stab at it! you cant really mess it up, although I'm sure its possible, im sure you wont! plusss you gotta keep the tradition alive and most important it SOOOO tasty! oh my gosh, yummm! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this.
ReplyDeleteMy great nan used to make the best mulberry jam and fig jams.
I used to watch her make jame with her old (and really heavy) pot on top of the open fire farm stove.
We were allowed to taste a little bit and it always tasted better than anything store bought.
I really want to make some jam now.
